No yellow threats?

Ha! No, not with that record of death.

Funny thing though, right after this is when things finally started coming together, pretty consistently getting scores in the 20s with only white threats. (Making Ryan captain, and making a point of explicitly marking energy usage, helped quite a bit.) So we started mixing in the yellow threats. That has not gone so well; we've managed to survive -- but only on the occasions where we didn't draw a single yellow threat. :P

Huh. Most of the time we mix the external threats and leave out internals (because many of them are difficult to the point of being *not fun*) when we play at my office and usually win, though with a fair bit of damage.

The externals actually don't seem that bad to me, despite their terrifyingly large sizes. :)

Yeah, well, honestly, that's probably more due to coincidence due to anything else; we still haven't played many games with the yellows in. Despite this pattern holding up so far, it doesn't seem to be the inclusion of the yellows that's killed us each time.

Well, we'll see. It took a while to catch on, but now Ryan and Dan basically want to play all the time, so I think we'll be playing a bunch in the coming days... maybe start mixing in the yellow serious threats as well... (maybe leave out the internal ones there, holy crap...)

That doesn't even seem the worst of them; that seems doable with a bit of redundancy. It's the thought of dealing with the Seeker that really scares me...

One person gets delayed and the ship blows up...

...which is I suppose not exactly an uncommon reason to die in Space Alert. :)

Hence why I said "with a bit of redundancy". But yeah, as you say, that's common enough anyway...

By contrast, Seeker just seems too unpredictable to deal with...

Clarification, since I can't find the edit button at the moment: This is Dan-the-first-year, not Dan-who-used-to-live-here...
